1&1 is a great host for people like me who manage many different domains. You can even order seperate packages and control them from one central location. Support is OK, but the quality of the software and the amount of uptime makes up for that. You get anywhere from 1-5 free TLD's, too.

In general I liked this hosting
bad:
I don't care for their control panel - its very slow and clunky. The "stuff" they give you (webstats, newsletter tools, cgi's, etc) are useless. Don'waste your time with those things.
good:
If you know how to do basic things in UNIX/LINUX, their machines are the BEST. Reliable and easy to use.

I found 1and1 to be a great hosting service. When I first came across their prices it almost seemed to good to be true. I put one site up with them to start just to try things out, I've since put up all my sites with these guys. For the cost of the server I can host up to 100 domains on the one Plesk License. Good by me.
Main drawbacks are support (not very good, takes a long time) and the speed of the control panel (has only one speed, slow).

1st of all, I should say that if you are not experienced, do not go with them If you are not experienced webmaster, you will find any support horrible because there are only a few things a support team can help you with. Just cuz a support team could not answer your question does not mean that the hosting system sucks. I tried their email support and got response within a few hours.
As 4 pricing, it's rather low but this doesn’t mean their service is bad. They give more than I ask for their amazing low prices. I didnt like their $99 setup fee, but it was all forgotten with their amazing features. I think most of the people who get their non-dedicated server packages have problems with them because of their customized control panel.
